Swim
Comments: Swim was always going to be fast due to current, but lesson learned, by not going to the pre-race meeting i got lost on course and could have been at least 2 mins faster... plus just walking all the way on the long transition didnt aid my time.. What would you do differently?: Go to pre race meeting.. not listen to kayakers telling me to rejoin other swimmers when i was perfectly on course Transition 1
Comments: Was very relaxed, didnt try to do anything quickly and im sure i wouldnt have been able to anyway.. Bike
Comments: The bike went well i thought.. yes, there was wind, there was moisture in the air and a little rain, yes it was cold, but i honestly never felt too down at any time, concentrated on foloowing nutrition and hydration plan.. also concentrated on staying HR zones, no matter what the wind threw at me.. was passed multiple times but antici[pated that due to being off in the first wave of swim Transition 2
Comments: just handing the bike off to somwone for them to rack felt great!.. (tad superstar like also).. the volunteers in the tent were AMAZING!.. feet were so numb and had to put number on my race belt but the volunteer took care of that and also packed all my wet stuff into bag.. truly thankful for all their help and support.. Run
Comments: Wow... now this was tough, first 2 to 3 miles could not feel my feet properly and felt as if something was in the bottom of shoes though i knew it was due to the numbness.. slow time but it was always going to be slow.. walked too much and too many times What would you do differently?: Have a better nutrition/hydration plan for the bike and dont try to just wing it.. Post race
Warm down: Drank a recovery drink.. Event comments: First HIM.. amazing as i finished!.. very well organized, great volunteers, truly great.. nice goodies and very nice finishers medal.. Last updated: 2011-04-30 12:00 AM
