Swim
Comments: My wife started right in front of me and I mentioned that to the starter and he said he was going to save my marriage and let me have a minute behind so I wouldn't pass her. I knew since she was a better swimmer I had no chance anyway. Even with the minute between, I still passed one swimmer. I need to try open water swims where I'm not having to deal with passing people in a lane. What would you do differently?: I just need to work on swimming more. Transition 1
Comments: I felt pretty good in T1. I need to practice more. What would you do differently?: Practice more! Bike
Comments: This is where I need to work. Looking at the people in front of me, they all went around 19-20 on the bike. I need to start riding in groups or just getting more time in the saddle. What would you do differently?: Ride more! Transition 2
Comments: I felt great in T2. I just switched to yanks laces. They worked great and I was able to get in and get out fast. Run
Comments: I was really happy with the run. I decided not to wear my Garmin throughout the race. I felt like if I did, I would not have put up this time. This is the fastest I've ever run a 5k. What would you do differently?: Run harder up the last hill. Post race
Warm down: Waited on my wife to finish. Ate some tacos, fruit etc. What limited your ability to perform faster: Just needed to train more. Event comments: This race is for such a good cause. I will definitely keep doing it. Last year I was in a bad car accident a week before and wasn't able to compete. I was so happy that I was able to this year. Last updated: 2011-05-01 12:00 AM

I woke up at 4:15 and at some oatmeal. Ate a banana at the race. I had a gatorade prime too. I tried that at the Tobacco Road Half and PRed so I decided to use it again.
I swam several laps and practiced flip turning under the ropes.
