Pre-race routine:

Camped at the Lake and woke up about 6 am. Headed out the race site around 6:40 and got registered and set up. Ate whole grain bagel bar; a banana and some Gatorade. Ate a Gatorade performance gel "preworkout" gel pack about 15 minutes before the start.
Event warmup:

Parked about a mile away and rode the bike to the registration and transition area. No other significant warm-up other than getting into the water about 5 minutes before race time.

Comments:

The swim was very crowded. The race organizers did not organize the start at all. All 600 participants were crowded at the start point and sent out to the water as quickly as they could get there.
What would you do differently?:

Get closer to the front so I didn't have so many slow swimmers to deal with.

Comments:

I forgot to check my gloves and realized at the end of transition that my gloves were still inside out. Fixing this and getting my gloves on probably cost me at least a minute.

Be more organized.

Warm down:

Felt great after the race. Very little recovery time needed to get my heart-rate down and feel normal.

Event comments:

Worth it just for the scenery! Good race that I will try to do again.
