Event comments: Well I gave them the benefit of the doubt after a terrible year 1. Looks like I should have stayed home. After having to trek nearly a mile from the parking lot to the race I was greeted with going into a mosquito pit for transition. The transition area was in a dark grassy field, instead of the well lit paved parking lot right next to the field. The swim was pretty nice and very good conditions. Transition was not to bad, and if you are looking for a fast bike course this is it. The out and back on A1A was nice and not to much traffic to deal with. As I was coming into transition, I was noticed the person in front of me crashing as he tried to ride to the dismount line. Well it appears they decided to place the dismount line 15 ft onto a dirt and gravel road. It made for a tough T2. Heading out on the run, I usually like to get a drink of water at the exit, but there was no water to my surprise. Out on the run course, I had to rely on my memory as to where the mile markers where from last year since they decided to not mark them this year. The was water station that you passed twice on the run course. Post race there was a good amount of water and food. Since I signed up for the series, if they have not shown a remarkable turnaround, I will choosing to make the drive to other more organized races. Also, they only got my split for my swim. So no real way to compare my races year to year. Last updated: 2011-05-02 12:00 AM
