Total Time = 1h 20m 16s
Overall Rank = 73/102
Age Group = 30-34
Age Group Rank = 5/6
Pre-race routine:

Ate half an english muffin with peanut butter and had some black coffee on the drive up. Got marked and set up in the transition area.
Event warmup:

Jogging around a nearby parking lot. Jumping jacks. Excessive worrying. :)
Swim
  • 05m 47s
  • 300 yards
  • 01m 56s / 100 yards
What would you do differently?:

Satisfied with swim, but quite disappointed to realize at the end that I could barely make it out of the pool because my arms were tired. My head was a little foggy and I did not realize there was a ladder right next to me. I will locate it ahead of time next time.
Transition 1
  • 00m
Comments:

Transition times were lumped into bike times.
What would you do differently?:

not worry so much about my hair. :P
Bike
  • 45m 2s
  • 10.85 miles
  • 14.46 mile/hr
Comments:

Very nice to have a lane all to the race and not have to worry about traffic
What would you do differently?:

Just push myself harder in general. I am still not well acquainted with how I can perform on the bike. My legs were burning on the hills but I probably could've gone faster on the flats or used the downhills to better advantage.
Transition 2
  • 00m
Comments:

Again, time lumped into bike time
What would you do differently?:

Put my hair up while already running
Run
  • 29m 28s
  • 3.21 miles
  • 09m 11s  min/mile
Comments:

VERY tight and stiff through most of the run but fairly happy with my pace most of the time. I did take a pause at the first mile mark at the water station, maybe 15 seconds. Had nothing at all left for a kick
What would you do differently?:

Just try to stay focused on keeping my pace even so I don't have such lulls. Find a way to be better stretched out.
Post race
Warm down:

Walking with daughter, eating a donut!

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Vacation and time off leading up to race day. Lack of consistent stretching to beat stiffness during run.

Event comments:

I think the organizers did an AWESOME job. Everything happened on time, volunteers were everywhere. The race director answered questions via email beforehand very promptly. Will definitely do this again next year if I can.
