Run
Comments: Last run was in May -- June was spent training for the Double Triple Bypass which was the previous weekend. I just wanted to survive the run w/o injury. Transition 1
Comments: Meant to have the right pedal up so I could hop on and pedal. Instead it was more like a Sunday-ride-slowly-get-into-the-pedal-and-go. What would you do differently?: Learn to mount a bike. Bike
Comments: Legs were not up for racing so kept the cadence high. Hoped for fastest bike leg in my AG since that's all I've been doing, but the legs were not cooperative. Transition 2
Comments: Tried to keep focus but would rather chat with spectators apparently. What would you do differently?: Don't rack next to someone who takes up a lot of room. Run
Comments: Passed a dropped unopened Gu at the 1st turn in the run so went back for it. Literally "eating off the course". Needed it desperately as I'd forgotten to pack my shot blocks. Got me thru! Post race
Warm down: Got a massage for my swollen legs -- when he was done I could see my ankle bones again!!! What limited your ability to perform faster: Not running in June/July; doing the Double Triple Bypass the previous weekend; and arriving 10# overweight and hungover. I gotta stop rewriting the "How Not to Prep for a Race" book. But I had realistic expectations going into this and just did it for fun. Event comments: 1st place in this race beat me by almost 9 minutes. She beat me by less than a minute in the 1st race of the series 2 months ago. Hmmmm. Thank dog it was a short course. Great to see tri/du friends that I hadn't seen all season w/ all the bike racing I've been doing. Last updated: 2011-05-05 12:00 AM

Got up @ 3:30 after 3 hrs of sleep. Wandered around & went back to bed. Up again @ 4, got ready and left by 4:45.
Volunteered, jogged a little, drank lots of electrolytes. Hangover kicked in. Why did I think beer would help w/ my swollen legs?! It just dehydrated my brain and didn't touch the legs.
