Swim
Comments: Started in wave 0 so it was not crowded. stopped to rest around 200 yard mark. stopped at the turnaround and two other spots. What would you do differently?: Breath more often. Transition 1
Comments: A little awkward as we have to leave all the swim stuff in a sack that was to be returned to us after the race. Bike
Comments: I started slow and gradually got up to full speed around the 5 minute mark. I was pleased with the ride. Mentally I was prepared for 12 and once I hit that point I had trouble keeping up to speed. What would you do differently?: May try to get up to speed faster. Transition 2
Comments: Quick transition. What would you do differently?: I need cold water to cool off the body. Run
Comments: The sand slowed me down more than expected. It would have been better If I could ahve seen the first turn off of the beach to be able to gage where I was. Post race
Warm down: Walked, Water, and orange slices What limited your ability to perform faster: Just conditioning. I took around 28 minutes off of my last years time and the bike course was 1/2 mile longer than last year. Event comments: The race was taken up by a new promoter two weeks before the start and they did a great job of making things happen. The course at the state park is much safer than last years. The bike was 14 miles, two longer than advertised. Apparantly there was a problem with the championchip system. A week later and results are still preliminary. The promoter did a great job pre-race keeping everyone informed. Post race we have no clue what happened. Last updated: 2006-04-06 12:00 AM
