Swim
Comments: The water was very shallow which made swimming tough to start, i was afraid of being to slow so i started to the outside. I have to give myself more credit, I was caught behind a very slow pack and every time I got into a good rhythm I would start to run over people and have to slow down. What would you do differently?: Next time I'll just start more on the inside, and dolphin jump to the first buoy. Transition 1
Comments: I haven't had clip in shoes for very long so it's definitley something I have to work on. What would you do differently?: Not much Bike
Comments: Very hilly course and I'm not use to them. Honestly it took me about 7 miles to get into a good rhythm and that's a little a late. I need more time in teh saddle and I will get that this dummer. What would you do differently?: I was happy with my performance Transition 2
Comments: I can't do a moving dismount yet, I tried to stay as far left as possible so more experienced riders behind me could go, but one guy still yelled at me, I don't think it was that I was holding him up. I'll have to practice that. What would you do differently?: I actually lost my good tri socks the day before so I was using cotton ones. After the bike, the socks felt all wet and uncomfortable so I changed them, that took a good extra 20 seconds. Need knew socks for the next race Run
Comments: I enjoyed the run. First mile was a little slow due to some crampping in the hamstring, for a few minutes I actually thought it was going to snap but then loosened up. I enjoyed the hills, I'm just strong on them and was able to pass a lot of people there. What would you do differently?: Nothing Post race
Warm down: 3 beers and they were delicious! I also walked the mile from the lake area to the exit pushing my 8 month old son, it was a nice cool down. What limited your ability to perform faster: Of course training, it's always training, but I am still really happy with my overall performance. I am a firm beleiver in having a positive attitude while competiting. Event comments: Volunteers were great! Although I never took any water from them, I made sure I thanked them at each station. Good food and drinks at the end, especially the beer :-) Also the bouncy house did a great job of keeping my 6 and 3 yr old occupied. A medal would be nice but that's okay, I'll just make my own :-) Last updated: 2011-05-06 12:00 AM

Woke up at 4:00 AM and got ready without making a sound so that I didn't wake wife and kids in the hotel room. Went to my dad's room to get my bike and banana and then headed to the lobby to wait for him. In the lobby had the banana and 2 cups of coffee while watching Hot In Cleveland (which was really funny). We made it to the race by around 5:10 and by the time we got the bikes off the rack and pumped up the tires it the transistion was open. After setting up area, I had a G-prime and walked down to the water then just tried to stay off my feet.
Not much, just some stretching and light jogging.
