Pre-race routine:

Woke up at 5 puttered around a bit and showered. Ate a banana, a stinger waffle thingy which was delicious, and a powerbar gel. Left for the race about 5:50.
Event warmup:

stretched out some while talking to the wife. took another gel about 10 till 7. Just hungout till it started.

Comments:

The run felt really good. I went out wanting to hold 8:40 pace the first 7 miles. I held right at about 8:45 only because of the crowd at the beginning. Picked up the pace the last 6 miles, negatively splitting all of my 5k's. Was very happy with my performance. Broke previous best of 2:10 so a 17 minute PR is nice.
What would you do differently?:

I probably should have consumed a bit more water. Generally hit every third water station. probably should have gone every other but really wasn't feeling to terrible until the last mile.
Post race
Warm down:

walked through the finishers area and then met the wife. grabbed an overpriced cheeseburger and headed home.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Probably not enough water and the stress fracture in right shin reduced training the last few weeks.

Garmin said I went 13.21 miles. Avg HR of 175 with Max of 185 in the last .1 miles.
Course: Always a great, flat course. Being seeded up in corral E made a huge difference for the number of ppl that stop in front of you randomly. Really didn't have that at all today. Was very good.
