Pre-race routine:

Woke up at 3:30.1st car at the Fairgrounds out of the 7K runners; arrived at 5:40 am with my friend Karen. Ate 1/2 english muffin at 4:30. Talked with Karen in her car and other tri-club members atthe porta-johns ;)
Event warmup:

Jogged for 10 min. then stretched.

Comments:

I ran an even pace throughout so that is good, but I felt like I was running stronger the last 4 miles. There were many fluid stations and I know I drank from about 8, 2Gatorade and the rest H20. This course has MANY turns through neighborhoods ect. and it makes it a little more unusual type of run. There were quite few cheering sections for the small town of Frederick which was a nice surprise. I have avoided this race because of the traffic nightmares but registered this year only so I could run it with my daughter Katie. But since she broke her ankle in December she still can't run much and could not race.
It was an enjoyable event and I will run it again.
What would you do differently?:

Hydrate more the day and night before.

Stretch, hydrate, bagel, jog 10 min., stretch, walk,stretch, keep hydrating

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Not sure.

Course: People say it is a difficult course but it is not, it is a good course with some rollers and of course a bigger hill close to the finish.
