Total Time = 3h 22m 12s
Overall Rank = 320/361
Age Group = Clydesdale
Age Group Rank = 18/20
Pre-race routine:

1 cup of coffee and peanut butter toast for breakfast. I did not change any of my normal eatting habits the day before.
Event warmup:

No real warmup before the start of the race, just a little light streaching.
Swim
  • 34h 14m
  • 1640 yards
  • 2h 05m 13s / 100 yards
Comments:

I liked the beach start vs having to deal with stairs. It was at times hard to hear the call of waves. I didn't feel as comfortible as I though I would have. I wasn't first but I wasn't last.
What would you do differently?:

More open water swimming before the next race!
Transition 1
  • 03m 27s
Comments:

Took a little long in T1...gave the kid a kiss and hug. That added a little time to T1, but it made her day.
What would you do differently?:

Need to get tri bike shoes that don't require socks like my road bike shoes do. That would cut down a little time as well.
Bike
  • 1h 21m 12s
  • 24.85 miles
  • 18.36 mile/hr
Comments:

Had a really good ride! It went by really quick. Everything was working just the way it should have.
What would you do differently?:

Tri shoes are a must for the next race...I will also get a pair of race wheels for the bike too.
Transition 2
  • 02m 11s
Comments:

T2 was good...nothing else to report here.
What would you do differently?:

Nothing
Run
  • 1h 20m 6s
  • 6.21 miles
  • 12m 54s  min/mile
Comments:

Had a hard time with the run. Did it without a fuel belt and I like that, since there were water stations all over. Need to work on the run more! This would be a game changer if I would get faster. Just pulling 10min off of the run would have changed my over all placement by 100+ spots.
What would you do differently?:

WORK ON RUNNING!
Post race
Warm down:

Didn't do anything but hang with the wife and kid. That was enough of a warm-down.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

My running!

Event comments:

The race was great! Need more bathrooms the ones they had filled up quickly. Would run this one again! The postrace awards were good, I got a great Trans bag thanks to the daughter saying something.
