Swim
Comments: It was nice because the lanes were 9 foot wide and everyone was going in the same direction. I put myself in a 7:30/300 and was actually able to pass a few people in the pool. Being used to a 25 yard pool, it seemed to take forever to complete a lap. Was able to draft a little. What would you do differently?: Be a little more agressive. I had more opportunity to pass people than I took advantage of. Transition 1
Comments: Because it was chilly and windy, I had to put more laers of clothes on in the transition. This slowed me down a little. I also wanted to get a litle drier than usual because it was sooooo damm windy. What would you do differently?: Nothing, overall was happy Bike
Comments: about a mile into the first loop...MY REAR TIRE FLATTED! That really sucked. Luckily I had a spare tube and co2 cartride with me. Took longer than I hoped to change it (lost about 7 minutes). Once I was back on, I tried really hard to pass as many people as I could and did manage to pass several. The winds were so bad. On the short section when they were at my back, I was going at about 28mph. Into the wind, maybe 11. It was cold too! What would you do differently?: Not flat Transition 2
Comments: Nothing exciting, Good transition. What would you do differently?: Not flat Run
Comments: As I have stated in race reports before...I suck at the run. This time was no different, but I kept moving. I knew that there were people behind me so that made me feel better. Actually did a negative split around the pond. What would you do differently?: Become a better runner! Post race
Warm down: Hard to warm-dowm when you are shivering. Andy and Steve were there at the finish when I crossed. Waited for Shannon who, it turns out, also had bike problems. What limited your ability to perform faster: My sucky run and the flat. That aside, I was still pretty pleased with my performance. Event comments: In the past 2 weeks, I have met many BT'ers. Hope to meet more and Aaron, Haley, Andy, Stave and Shannon at other races. Last updated: 2006-04-08 12:00 AM

Packed my bag Friday night. Went to bed early but had a terrible night's sleep. Not sure if it was becase Steve did not sleep well but we were watching TV at 3:00. Got up at 5, had an english muffin and headed over to the race site which was only 5 minutes from the house
Felt really rushed in transition. Realized I forgot my goggles so Steve ran home to get them. He was back in plenty of time for me to make the swim start. Got to meet a few more BT'ers...Andy (apw0397), Shannon (swatson) and Steve (sblack). It is always great to meet other BT'ers!
