Comments:

The run was more hilly than most people expected. The Citylink on-ramp and Bolte bridge were sustained and quite steep inclines, the exit from the Domain Tunnel onto Batman Ave, the hill at Flinders Street intersection, and Swanston Street itself were all hilly. My heart rate monitor showed that 37% of the course was uphill! A lot of people were suffering on the final hill on Swanston Street though I felt quite good and passed a number of people (this was 2 km from the finish).
What would you do differently?:

Nothing.
Post race
Warm down:

Beer and Yum cha!!!!

What limited your ability to perform faster:

I performed at the level expected from my current training status so nothing other than extra training would have made a difference.

Event comments:

Very scenic run through central Melbourne. Incorporates Bolte Bridge, Westgate Freeway, Domain Tunnel, Swanston Street.
