Transition 1
  • 02m 51s
Bike
  • 1h 13m 11s
  • 24.85 miles
  • 20.37 mile/hr
Comments:

I think I did well on the bike. I biked hard, but tried not to burn myself out for the run.
What would you do differently?:

Tri bike. :) Those were the only bikes that passed me.
Transition 2
  • 02m 19s
Comments:

Well, at the end of the bike I felt I needed to use the bathroom (#1). After I was off the bike I thought I may be able to make it. I had 3 options, try to hold it for the remainder of the race, stop at the port-a-pottie, or let it out during the run. The port-a-pottie was open so I used it. I missed second by 19 seconds.
What would you do differently?:

Skip the bathroom stop.
Run
  • 48m 59s
  • 6.21 miles
  • 07m 53s  min/mile
Comments:

Accidently got a glass of Heed at the first water stop when I wanted water, which was my own fault. Took the first couple miles easy. Picked it up just a little more for the next couple miles. Last couple miles my quads were starting to bark at me so I slowed the pace just a little. I finished strong and felt pretty good at the end of the run.
What would you do differently?:

Get some water at the first water stop.
Post race
What limited your ability to perform faster:

OWS practice.

Event comments:

A lot of great volunteers making sure everything went smoothly. I will definately be looking to do this one again next year if possible.

Course: Roads were not in the best condition, but the voluteers were great dealing with traffic at all the corners and turn arounds. I thought the sprint turn around looked a bit dangerous at bottem of a hill for the olympic bikers on the way back, but I made it through ok and the volunteers seemed to be on top of it.
