Pre-race routine:

Watched the news to get excited about the race. Ate a half a power bar on the drive to the race.
Event warmup:

Walked over from the North Side to the race start in Downtown. Jogged a bit during the walk over.

Comments:

Run was going well at the beginning. I was ahead of my 5 hour pace until we hit Forbes Ave. Killer hill. Had to do a walk-run combo from there on. It took me about three hours to finish the last half. That was disappointing.
What would you do differently?:

Do more training outside. Probably will split time between the treadmill and the road next time.
Post race
Warm down:

Nothing really. Stretched at the finish and got my picture taken. Took a nice long shower at the Y and stretched some more.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Lack of outside (hill) training and a toe injury that cost me some training time.

Event comments:

Good jump back into running. I was a little disappointed in my time but excited about finishing. This is a baseline race for everything else I do in the future.
