Comments: Thought i had maybe done slightly better but reasonably happy with a 2 min/100 pace.. pleased with my sighting and passing quite a few of the participants from previous waves that started ahead was a morale booster. Transition 1
Comments: T1 went well, ranked #1 in group and 88/364, so for a first ever transition pretty darn pleased overall with that. Bike
Comments: Felt good on the bike and having ridden the course to practice twice before was nearly 5 mins faster than i had done previously, didn't feel like i overdid it but felt close to perhaps going a little too hard.. What would you do differently?: Pay more attention to how hard i push it and stay more within my zone.. Transition 2
Comments: Happy with T2 until i realized i had left my Garmin 305 on the bike and would have to pace myself on the run purely by feel. What would you do differently?: Remember to put Garmin on wrist Run
Comments: Time was actually better than anticipated as i felt it was a poor run. Missed having my 305 to tell me my pace and could probably have paced it better and handled it better had i known. I walked at every aid station and it was only 3.1 mile run!!!.. not pleased about that but with an on-reflection thing i feel i probably overcooked it a little on the bike. I have done 25/3 mile bricks and felt a LOT better on the run.. so i missed my goal of 8 min miles... so although time wasnt terrible, it felt awful. What would you do differently?: Pace better off the bike and remember GARMIN! Post race
Event comments: First ever tri for me, so hard to rate. It seemed like an excellent race and very well organised. The dreaded parking issues were a non issue for me as i arrived early, got a spot no problem and because i was a novice i was one of the last to start (and thus finish), plus i hung around for ceremonies as i got 3rd in my group!!.. yay yay!!.. Great first tri. Last updated: 2011-05-20 12:00 AM
