Swim
Comments: Swim was tougher than expected. I had a decent time (not too fast, not too slow.) Caught a couple of large breathes of exhaust from a boat that choked me up a little. What would you do differently?: Need to focus more on me than my surrounding competitors Transition 1
Comments: I was DRAINED after the swim. I practice transitions the night before at a fast pace. I was slow in the transition area because I was so drained. What would you do differently?: I don't know (I'm trying to figure this out!!!) Bike
Comments: It took me about 2.5 miles before I had any energy at all. I was in rough shape coming out of the transition area. I ate a gel during the first mile. My second lap was much better than the first. I was passed by MANY people. (I did pass a 13 year old on a mountain bike though!!) Dropped my water bottle on the second lap (found it on the way home though.) What would you do differently?: Need to work on speed. Transition 2
Comments: this transition was much better than the first one. I had more energy and felt pretty good. The water I got coming out of the transition was room temperature though and almost gagged me!! What would you do differently?: need to work on moving faster with the bike (running) and getting off quicker. Run
Comments: I was pretty wobbly for the first 100-250 yards. (I felt ok, but my legs were buckling on me.) I walked about 2/3-3/4 of the way. Jogged most of the downhills. Due to the uneven surface, I tripped 3-4 times, but caught myself (luckily!!) Brock (from LA) walked/jogged with me after about 1 mile. I enjoyed his company (kinda slowed me down, but I didn't mind...I'm sure he thinks the same about me!!) The finish chute was pretty exciting, I was a little delusional (spelling??) after, but came to pretty quick. What would you do differently?: Need to work on my running. Post race
What limited your ability to perform faster: Need to train harder/more. Event comments: Finished a little slower than I wanted, but I had fun and pushed through the pain after the swim. I think my new nickname is going to be "Left" Last updated: 2006-04-10 12:00 AM

Very excited (not nervous though.) Layed out transition area first. Walked down to water and jogged back to trasition area. I had a large transition area thanks to the RD!! Race was postponed about 30 minutes due to the bike course not being closed off. Talked with several people. Keith showed up and gave me some encouragement.
Slight jogging, stretching. (Really did not suffiecently warm up)
