Swim
Comments: First race, so had a hard time calming myself down to get into a rythm. After a horrible swim, the actual transition was up the bench across a long parking lot and across the street to the actual transition. At least 2 min to get to the the transition marker. The swim was still bad but some of it was the long run to the transition. What would you do differently?: Need a lot more work on my swim. Transition 1
Comments: A little slow but trying not to forget anything. What would you do differently?: Practice transition more Bike
Comments: Thought my pace was a little faster than what it actually turned out. Passed a few people and got passed by a few more. Once again I was having a hard time getting calmed down and into any kind of rythm. What would you do differently?: Train harder Transition 2
Comments: Everything seemed fine What would you do differently?: Practice transitions Run
Comments: First mile was about a 9:30 pace but all went downhill after that. Struggled but ran the whole way. What would you do differently?: Just like everything else, train harder Post race
Warm down: Nothing but drinking a lot of water. What limited your ability to perform faster: Being my first race, I really didn't know what to expect. Event comments: First race so it's hard for me to evaluate much but everyone was very helpful and friendly. I'll be back next year to see how much I can improve on my first time. Woke up around 4:45 and got a quick shower to wake me up a little. Walked about 100 yards across the street from my hotel room to set up my transition about 5:15. Best room possible for this race. Got my area set up then walked around to see what everyone else was doing since this was my first race. Went back to the room for a short while and then back over to the transition area about 6:30.
Did some stretching and walked down to the beach for the swim start.
