Run
Comments: had my fastest 3 mile run ever but I paid for it during the rest of the race. What would you do differently?: go out slower and keep the heartrate down Transition 1
Comments: smooth transition did everything I wanted to with no problems What would you do differently?: bring my camelback and put it on you'll see why later Bike
Comments: felt real strong on the bike. On my last few training rides I got comfortable drinking from my water bottle so I left the camelback at home. Of course I dropped my only water bottle 4 miles in Doh! :o The heat didn't really bother me on the bike but I never really got my heart rate to settle down. The jelly belly sport beans in my bento box did help keep me from cramping up though. What would you do differently?: Not drop my water bottle Wear by camelback NOT DROP MY WATER BOTTLE Transition 2
Comments: took a drink from the bottle I left in transition remembered my garmin this time :) What would you do differently?: Bring my fuelbelt and use it. Why have this stuff then not use it? Stupid, stupid, stupid Run
Comments: Not getting enough to drink on the bike really F'd me up. I was able to run the first 3/4 mile then went into the survival shuffle. Was able to run What would you do differently?: bring my fuel belt not drop my water bottle on the bike Post race
Warm down: Got into the shade dumped water on my head and tried to get rehydrated. Stuck around to check the results What limited your ability to perform faster: dropping only water bottle on bike in the first 4 miles. my weight though it's finally coming down :) THE HEAT dehydration Event comments: Did I mention to not drop my water bottle on the bike? got up at 5, packed up the car hit the road. Ate half a bagel with peanut butter and a clif bar on the way. Got race number 69 :) drank a bottle of water while setting up transition.
It was already getting hot enough out so I didn't want to waste any energy.
