Pre-race routine:

Just a walk around, and set up transition. Pool swim, I can warm up there.
I didn't have breakfast, because I have had Gastro... and let's be honest, I was a bit afraid of what would happen if I ate something.
I couldn't eat dinner last night because I just felt horrible. So I basically have had a packet of two minute noodles in two days. Not the ideal race prep is it.
Event warmup:

Yeah not a lot.
Swim
  • 05m 10s
  • 300 meters
  • 01m 43s / 100 meters
Comments:

Yeah. There's not a lot I can say here. I'll always be in the top handfull out of the water.
That's why I'm swimming for team CCTS in the OD next week.
Some chicks got in the way at the ladder so I just jumped out at the side of the pool.
What would you do differently?:

Nothing.
Transition 1
  • 01m 30s
Comments:

This is a guess at time.
I felt pretty shitty getting out of the water due to being just a little bit sick. I stopped. Had a drink... then got moving.
What would you do differently?:

Don't stop. I have time to recover when I am on the bike.
Bike
  • 18m 44s
  • 9 kms
  • 28.83 km/hr
Comments:

People don't understand stay left.
I need to remember that it's a mountain bike race, basically, lol.
Admittedly I drafted a girl for about 500m to have a rest. Oh well. No TOs.
What would you do differently?:

Not a lot. I did alright. I had no data, so had no idea how fast I was going. Was faster than last year though. Big chain ring this year!
Transition 2
  • 01m 30s
Comments:

Better transition than T1. But, because my bike was racked right back at the swim entry, and they didn't make everyone run aroudn the back of transition, I had a long run with the bike and another long run out of transition to the run exit.
Oh well.
What would you do differently?:

Nothing. I went without socks. I did have a bit of trouble racking my bike, but at least I know I gave it all because I was zonked.
Run
  • 27m 50s
  • 3 kms
  • 09m 17s  min/km
Comments:

I am so glad that there were like 400 competitors.
But I was feeling alright up until this point. I hit the ground out of T1, after taking a fair sip out of the water bottle, and just about lost bladder control, and got a mass pain in my gut. And I know this is TMI, but I figured (since I was still soaking wet) I may as well let it go.
I struggled to get through the first 500m. When I got to the 1km mark, the water I had drank in T1 evacuated. I undid my suit because I could hardly breathe, cramps in my stomach as well as everything else.
The legs could go. They wanted to go.
But I couldn't. I know it's a lack of food/energy. I know it's being sick. But I just can't help being so damn disappointed in myself.

Overall race time of 54:45 was 2 minutes and a few seconds slower than last year.
What would you do differently?:

Don't race when sick. It's a shitty feeling.
Post race
Warm down:

I just went and lay on the ground. I drank about 5L of water immediately and felt a little better afterwards.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Sickness. That's all this year. I've been running well this week till today.

Event comments:

I will do this race every year till I can't walk any more.
Or till they take it off me.

Performance: Good
Suit: None
Course: 6 laps of MSAC pool. I hate being such a high number, we go off in waves and there are always so many people in the water before me and they just get in my way. I just swim over them now. 1 second faster than last year. However, the run to transition was longer due to having to run around construction.
