What would you do differently?: Aero bars. All of the cyclists that seemed smooth and relaxed were in aero. A few of them passed me, but I passed some of them as well. Need to train on some muscular endurance and try to get some more speed. Transition 2

Comments: CRAMPING!!! First my calves off of the bike on the way up the first hill. Then my quads on the way up the first hill on the second lap. I was abel to work out the calf cramps after about the first 500m but the quads stayed with me until the end. After all of the saline water from the lake and the Gu on the bike an run, you would think I would be okay. What would you do differently?: Nutrition and hill training... need more work on nutrition and lots of hill training. Post race

Relaxed and watched the morning unfold. Ate a bagel and banana on the drive to the race. Energy chews about 1/2 hr before race and a gel about 15min. before. Felt great about how the swim looked until the organizers said they had to put out the other buoys... hahaha.
Putting on my wetsuit... that is a workout in itself.
