Run
Comments: Hard on the mind to go up one row of grapevines, then back down the next row and so on. Always felt like, "Hey, I was just here 30 seconds ago!" The grass and fields were very uneven and just asking for a rolled ankle. I was mentally defeated before mile two when we got out and onto the road. All in all, I ran it 6 minutes faster than I ran the Fargo 10k the week before, and Fargo was a way easier course. What would you do differently?: Maybe treat it more like a race, better nutrition the day before and that morning. Post race
Warm down: They fricken ran out of water for the racers, because they were letting anyone have at it. We just left and went home to relieve the babysitter. What limited your ability to perform faster: Poor nutrition, poor attitude. Event comments: Only one drink station on the course was too little. The course was well marked however, and plenty of volunteers. Stupid that they ran out of water for the racers at the end. Last updated: 2011-05-24 12:00 AM

None, really. This was a very low key local race that I was treating more as my long run for the week than a race.
None. Just hung around the registration with friends and stretched a little.
