Pre-race routine:

the usual up early with oatmeal and peanut butter bagel.
Event warmup:

about 20 min. ride testing out the technical corners at the end of the ride. short swim.

very weedy but was long grassy stuff so it didn't freak me out too much. got a few handfuls and had to sweep some off of my goggles but not too bad. love the new wetsuit.

biking is my strength. got to the top of the small climb at the beginning and once i got up to speed my legs felt like they had no power. had to tone it down a bit so my performance was a little disappointing. i think the course was measured a bit long as my computer showed an average of 23.5 mph.

Warm down:

drink a lot and walk around talking to other tri club folks.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

for some reason i didn't feel any power on the bike and run. chalk it up to a bad day.

Event comments:

good race. one of the better post-race parties. very good organization. the organizer for most of the past years died a few weeks before the race and there was a really nice memorial before the race.
