Swim
Comments: I was planning to take it easy because I hadn't been swimming much but the swim really sucked. We had to tread water for about 5 minutes which got me more tired then I expected. Navigation sucked and I was all over the place. I kept bumping into a guy near me and couldn't get away from him. I got really tired and flustered in the middle and had to do a little breast stroke to get things settled back down. Pulled it together for the last 150-200 yds but it was too late at that point. What would you do differently?: Not hurt my shoulder working in the yard and take a lot of time off... Transition 1
Comments: Long run from swim exit to transition. What would you do differently?: I had all my things in trash bags to keep them dry. This slowed me down and I also took time to dry off my feet because the run through transition was a swamp and my feet were covered with mud (not just wet). I seem to suck at transition but all things considered I've had worse T1. Bike
Comments: Someone described this as "unrelenting rollers". I thought the course was great (or at least the part we did). The hills weren't too long or too steep but enough that some people struggled a little and it seperated people out. I think I could really excel on a course like this. Transition 2
Comments: Dismount to transition was a swamp. What would you do differently?: Same problem as T1. My stuff was in bags/covered up which slowed me down. Also was jogging slowly out of transition and could probably have picked it up a bit. Run
Comments: Calf was a little tight for the first half mile and I end up settling into a 8:00/mile pace. Should have pushed it harder. Ran way to comfortable. What would you do differently?: See above Post race
Warm down: Bottle of water and chatted with a couple of guys. Then had pizza (not very good) and a bannana. As soon as it started raining again I packed up and rolled out. What limited your ability to perform faster: Got flustered in the swim then let that carry over to the rest of the race. Never really pushed myself on the run. The plan was to have a solid bike then push the run but I let myself get comfortable and just trotted it out. Event comments: Can't fault them for delays due to rain but they waited a long time to tell everyone what was happening what the new plan was. Last updated: 2011-05-26 12:00 AM

Everything was screwed up by the rain delay. I heard that we were going to go on time so I ate my gu chomps about 30 minutes out. Then we were delay about 40-45. Had breakfast of two mini bagels with peanut butter and nutella. Didn't really do it for me.
Nothing except standing around in the ran.
