Pre-race routine:

Funny, but not funny, first race in 9 years, well went out drinking, had 5 32oz talls of Fosters...came home at 230am...woke up at 7am hit snooze than left house at 725am saying to myself, well this one way to get over a hangover
Event warmup:

Grabbing a 32oz glass of water and walking to the race, literally a half a mile from my house, really really nice. walking fast, and hoping I wasn't late, and praying I wouldn't die from dehydration

Comments:

Well my mind was on a special angel in heaven, that kept me from walking. I found out news that literally had me in tears before the race. Someone very close(sister) to Adam(Robit79) passed away three months ago. She was my second girlfriend and definitely the one that got away..Small world. My main goal was to not walk and finish. especially considering my pre-race warm-up, also thanks to Jeff(F150tpa) for my training runs at flatwoods, got me use to running next to people..lol
What would you do differently?:

Not drink the night before, attempt to go to bed by 10p.m...beside that felt great for first race in ten years and one month of real training.
Post race
Warm down:

catch up with Jeff, Christine and family, Adam, Cathy, Terri. Jessica, Cathy, everyone of the Bters there. walk around get some powerade and water, trying to hydrate from race and the prior nights festivities.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

5x32oz Fosters

Event comments:

Very Good Race, Jeff won a door prize and I did also. Jeff got golf lessons and I got an autographed book from Retired General Oliver North...very cool... I enjoyed meeting more BTers and also getting another example on life is short and to live it to the fullest. Linda will be a special angel to many and is definitely in my heart and will remain there forever.. God's Speed!
