Cliff bar and EFS energy drink approx 1 hour b4 race start
Event warmup:

Dynamic stretching group with one of the trainers, then practicing in and out at swim start and exit to guage terrain and current

Comments:

Started off outside, front of the group on the beach. Crowded to the first bouy, but didn't get beat up too bad. after the turn I got jammed between two guys and couldn't get away from them for about 100 yards and finally had to drop back.
What would you do differently?:

Saw people standing up and walking in, so I stood up. Mistake in not sticking to my plan of swimming until I grab sand. This probably cost me 15-20 secs on the swim trying to wade through waist high water instead of swimming in.

4th fastest T1 in AG. Almost flawless execution in T1.
What would you do differently?:

Had a little difficulty getting foot into left shoes due to bumpy bike start out of transition

They added 6 miles to this course from last year.
B/c there was little wind and very flat course, there was not much seperation up front and there was a lot of drafting.
Tried staying around 21.5 mph on the way out (slight headwind and slightly uphill elevation profile). then 23+ on the way back. pace felt comfortably hard. Everyone else in AG lit the bike course up. 13 of 26 in AG averaged 23.5 mph +.
What would you do differently?:

push the pace on the swim. I tend to keep the pace of the people I'm around on the bike.

Felt good off the bike and got up to speed faster than previous races. PR 5k pace. Run is getting stronger with every race.
What would you do differently?:

Push harder thruogh the middle part of the run. I tend to lose focus here.

Event comments:

They changed the transition area from the grass field to the parking lot which made the run from swim to transition way long.
Pre race: they were handing out timing chips as you entered the transition area and the body marking was just outide of transition entrance. It got very crowded and confusing at peak times.
