Pre-race routine:

PB on bread and banana on the way to the race. Parked early and got in line for the porta potties, then caught up with my wave as it creeped towards the start.
Event warmup:

Jog around a parking lot after hitting the john.

Comments:

Marathon is next week so we decided to take this one easy. It still felt like a fast course to me, maybe the temps made it feel easier. I felt good the whole way and felt really strong at the finish. I didn't really think that this course was as hilly as I've heard (heard so many horror stories about the hills!). Granted, the hill at mile 6 might have got me if I had pushed it harder for the first few miles.
What would you do differently?:

Not much. I'd like to actually race this next time, but it was fun to just run a course and because I took it easier I got to eat lots of food people were giving out and enjoyed a beer around mile 4.
Post race
Warm down:

Stretched a bit and then eventually walked back to the car and got some lunch at Chipotle on the way.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Knee is still bothering me, and I didn't push the pace since next week is our marathon.

Event comments:

First time doing this race, and I was very impressed. I thought it lived up to all of its hype. Course was interesting, lots of turns so the miles went by quick. Temps this year were absolutely perfect, cool and overcast with occasional rain drops. Plenty of liquids at the hydration stations and the crowds along the course were fun.
