Pre-race routine:

Woke up 5am, ate half bagel with peanut butter and drank water. Got to swim club at 6am to set up TA. Ate some clif bar while waiting close by for swim start at 8:50am. First time racing this Tri-To-Win!

What would you do differently?:

swim faster and breath every other stroke for entire distance.

TA was close to swim in and bike out, but socks and bike shoes took time to get on.
What would you do differently?:

socks/shoes on faster.

Road surface had some holes, which thankfully were marked. Had biked the course 1 time prior to the race.
What would you do differently?:

Ride the hilly course multiple times. Push myself the entire time and pull up on those pedals!

After bike dismount, had to run with bike for a while prior to racking bike on other side of TA. Then had to run the opposite direction out of TA to run over timing mat.
What would you do differently?:

Put on race belt while running out of TA. Practice running with bike on grass.

Drank Heed one time and rest of time poured water on my head to stay cool. Sun with no shade on most of run.
What would you do differently?:

More hill workouts!

Warm down:

Ate orange slices, 1/2 banana and water. Talked to my husband and rest of family. Stretched legs out.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Time spent training on road bike. Sun out and no shade on the run.
