Swim
Comments: Pretty good swim for me, felt like I was swimming strong the whole time. You can never go by paces because I've had great swims come out slow and bad swims come out fast, it all depends on the accuracy of the course length I guess. The only issue was I couldn't find anyone to draft after the first couple hundred yards, so I was mostly all alone. Stayed fairly straight, sometimes I can wander a bit so that was improved. What would you do differently?: There were some guys that finished 15-30 seconds ahead of me, maybe I should have tried to attach to their draft, otherwise this was a good swim for me. Transition 1
Comments: Wetsuit got stuck, hate when that happens. Doesn't seem to matter if I put body glide on my ankles or not, just luck of the draw I guess. The timing chip was larger than normal so maybe that was related. What would you do differently?: Get the damn wetsuit off! Bike
Comments: Solid bike, maintained a hard but sustainable effort level, with enough left for a good run. I had a little battle with a guy in the 2nd half of the leg, and eventually he stayed out in front but I kept him in range, thinking to myself that I would try to get him on the run. What would you do differently?: Not much Transition 2
Comments: Better transition here, not much wasted time. What would you do differently?: Nothing Run
Comments: Very good run, kept the guy I battled with on the bike in range and waited to make my move. He stopped to grab a drink at the aid station and that was my opening. Closed the gap and eventually got in his draft. There was a slight decline coming followed up a slight incline, so I decided to stay behind and make my pass on the uphill. Plan worked perfectly and I never looked back, listened for spectator comments to know that I put a sizeable gap between us. Kept up the pace to make sure I wouldn't have to out sprint him and finished up strong. What would you do differently?: Nothing Post race
Warm down: Cheered on some finishers for a few minutes, then packed up my stuff. Stretched and went in the lake for a bit before the awards. What limited your ability to perform faster: With my A race in two weeks I didn't really focus on resting for this, but turned in my best time ever here so I'm very happy. Event comments: I just love this race. Venue is one of my favorites and the volunteers are fantastic. I'll be back next year! Last updated: 2011-06-01 12:00 AM

Ate breakfast, packed up my stuff and drove to the race. I was pretty excited the weather was going to be good, all week it looked like storms were in the forecast.
Warmed up with a mile run, had to go to the bathroom so I missed out on swimming a bit before the race started.
