Swim

  • 300 yards
  • 02m 01s / 100 yards
Comments:

My nerves were going a little before the swim, since when I was putting my swim cap on while I was waiting in line It spilt in half and flew 10 feet from my body! My friend who was next to me jsut doubled over in laughter. At least I was able to put his nerves at ease.
What would you do differently?:

Change my start time if I'm doing a pool swim.
Transition 1
  • 00m
Comments:

Not sure on transistion time. I did hustle pretty well from the pool to the transition area.
Bike

Comments:

Someone was passing on my left, and I moved over and my tire went into this crevis in the road. When i popped my bike out of it I started losing control and slightly went off the road and unclipped one of my shoes off the pedal. When i got back on the road and tried to clip back in I got the worst cahrlie horse in my calf. I was about 3./4 of the way done with the bike thankfully but my calf was killing me the rest of the race.
Transition 2
  • 00m
Comments:

This was horrible. I clipped out of my pedals and jumped off my bike without coming to a full stop. It had just rained that morning so the pavement was still wet. My feet went out from under me and I slid on my ankle and butt. I had this HUGE bruise on my butt after the race. I also noticed after the race that I was bleed through my sock on my snkle and that my sock was all torn up. I didn't notice it until after the race but it must have been because of this fall.
What would you do differently?:

If i'm going to keep my bike shoes on when i dismount. I'm going to come to a full stop.

Comments:

Post race
Event comments:

It's a small local race. It was very comfortable for a beginner to try!

Course: It was 6 lanes in a pool. You would slowly work yourself over after every lap. I had put in a 7:00 estimated time and that was way too slow. I passed 3 people in the pool and got stuck multiple times including at the end where I had to swim very slow. I could have finished faster than I did, but I was still happy with my time.
