Swim
Comments: Swim felt great. I definitely underestimated my pace, finished with the group that started 2 waves ahead of me. Transition 1
Comments: I wore my running shoes on the bike. Also used socks. Probably could have saved some time if I went barefoot but I hadn't trained that way. Felt like it was a decent T1 in my first race ever. What would you do differently?: No socks. Bike
Comments: Where I trained, there were a lot of hills, so I wasn't prepared for a mostly flatter race. Ended up riding in a gear I wasn't used to so I think it wore me out for the run. Transition 2
Comments: Glad I rode with my running shoes on, this was a breeze. Grabbed a last gulp of water and headed out to the run. Run
Comments: My legs were tired from the run, have to practice in all gears next time. I wasn't short of breath, just uncomfortable after the ride. Got better towards the end. Post race
Warm down: Finished, grabbed a banana, bagel and some coconut water and enjoyed the feeling of finishing my first tri! Congratulated my two friends as they finished and felt great. Event comments: This was a great first race. I saw triathletes from all levels ranging from young beginners to older vets. Wetsuits and great bikes, to speedos and casual road bikes. This was a fun way to get into the sport. I'll definitely do it next year. Last updated: 2011-06-03 12:00 AM

Didn't get much sleep the night before, woke up and had a banana, Vega Sport drink. Drove to the race.
Jogged to and from the car to the transition area. Ate an energy bar, sipped some water. Stretched
