Swim
Comments: I have been working on my swimming a lot with Dynamo. Felt confident that this was the year my swimming may come around. Decided to put my self towards the front a little off to the left away from the buoys. Gun went off and after about 5 strokes I got kicked in the goggle. Rung the bell a little but kept going.Swam hard the first few minutes b/c there were a lot of people and I was trying to get in some clean water. Rounded the first buoy and things started thinning out. They thinned out so much, that since i was starring in the sun I thought I was going the wrong way. Stopped for a few seconds realized I was still on course, and put my head down and kept swimming. Swam until my hands hit some sand stood up and exited the water. Looked down at my watch and it said 7:30 something. Quick run up the beach put the whole swim at 7:56. Wow. Just freaking wow. Still not terribly fast but top 10 in my AG I will take it! What would you do differently?: Trust that I am going the right way and keep swimming. Transition 1
Comments: Long way to run through transition. Looks like about an average time. Yelled at Shanks. What would you do differently?: Just a little quicker. Always a little quicker. Bike
Comments: Game plan here was to just go as hard as I possibly could. Was out towards the front so the roads were wide open. I could see how this would be rough if you were in some later waves. Started hurting towards the end. Garmin showed 8.3 miles total so my avg was more around 21.7 or so. What would you do differently?: Nothing really. Transition 2
Comments: Had a hard time getting my left shoe on. Cost me some time. What would you do differently?: Quicker always quicker. Run
Comments: Stupid fast people always passing me. I knew this was going to hurt. Having been doing a lot of running and I tried to kill myself on the bike. Just put my head down and ran as hard as I could. What would you do differently?: Get back into run training. Post race
Warm down: Nothing really. Grabbed an apple watched other people some in, then hung out with some other Dynamo peeps and some EC folks. Event comments: This was a fun laid back race. Being in the first wave helped. I could see how that bike course could get seriously crowded in the later waves. Last updated: 2011-06-05 12:00 AM

Not much at all for this race. Stayed in Callaway the night before. Got up and got out there early since transition was first come first served. Got a good spot, and had a stinger waffle and headed down to the swim start.
Warm up consisted of swimming back and forth between the buoys a few times.
