Comments:

This was the earliest, hottest and wettest race I've ever done. But it was still fun most of all because it was in my old neighborhood in MN.
The race started at 6:30 am, the skies looked spooky and the temp was 79 deg with high humidity. By mile 2 it started to sprinkle which would have been perfect. But then be mile 2.5 it was pouring and continued to rain until the last 2 miles where it started to sprinkle again. But I quickly became saturated down to my shoes so I couldn't actually get any wetter. And at least the rain kept me cooler.
I didn't have any expectations for this race since it was only 4 weeks out from the marathon and I haven't been training specifically for this race. I just wanted to have fun. I felt pretty good until mile 8 where the hill took some out of me. But I did find my energy once again and started picking up the pace for the rest of the race. At mile 11 I started counting the number of people I was passed, 75+, which felt great. As I crossed the finish line, I knew I didn't have a PR, but it didn't matter. I ran a good race in less than ideal weather and was able to finish strong.
Mile splits: 9:27, 9:26, 9:34, 9:29, 9:33, 9:42, 9;33, 10:22, 9:25, 9:09, 9:17, 9:00, 9:29, 8:41 last 0.1.
