Run
Comments: I thought I was in the right corral (9min pace) but soo many slower people ahead of me. I had a pretty fast pace the beginning of the race around 8:30 ish and kept that up with a group of a few others trying to finish under 2 hrs and some shooting for 1:55. I felt really good until mile 7.5 and then I was tight and tired. I think the wind and my pace pulled a fast one on me. I ate some sports beans and thought they would help but couldn't get back my mojo. Kept a close eye on my watch so I could at least finish in 2 hrs. What would you do differently?: Train harder.. Post race
Warm down: Talked to some people from the Y. Ate some small peanut butter sandwiches and oranges, and then the rain started pouring and I found a nearby tent with our cheering squad and waited for the other two girlies to come in! Sat in the hot tub when I got home! mmmmm yeah!! What limited your ability to perform faster: Not enough water. My only complain about this race was that there wasn't enough water stations. I didn't drink enough and went out too fast. I need to train harder for the back half of any race. I felt pretty strong until mile 7 or 8 and then was tight and tired. Not tired like I couldn't finish but tired like I couldn't go any faster. Event comments: This was a fun race with alot of scenery. The weather was beautiful the day before the race and overall I met my goal. Fun weekend! :) Last updated: 2006-04-14 12:00 AM

Forced myself to eat a mini bagel with honey nut cream cheese and half of a banana. A little gatorade and water too! Peed 6 times before I left the house.
Walked with Judy and Angela 1/2 mile to Jockey's Ridge from where we were dropped off. Stretched and was nervous!
