I went into this race just planning for it to be part of my long run this morning, no plans to race it. But I got swept up and ran faster than I should have. This was mighty hilly which made it tough enough. But I also really needed a porta potty about a mile into the race and kept hoping that I'd find one. No such luck in this small race. So I was pretty uncomfortable a lot of the time. Probably why I ran it as fast as I did, so I could get to a bathroom sooner. But the weather was GORGEOUS! And I PRed too. First half marathon faster than a 9:00 min/mile pace. I'm shocked that I had this in me today, with the hills and all.
Now it's time for me to get ready for the Spankers show tonight, their farewell tour, sniff :(
