Swim
Comments: I thought I was going to have a good swim and it started out that way but then I had the same problem as I have had in my other 2 Tri's. I just couldn't catch my breath at all so after going about 100 yards I had to switch to breast stroke. I made it through but it could have been better What would you do differently?: I would figure out why my breathing just gets out of hand. Transition 1
Comments: Getting off my wetsuit was the best it has been yet so I had no problems. I was able to get everything on with no problems. It went pretty good What would you do differently?: maybe learn to bike with no socks. It would save me some time trying to putting on socks Bike
Comments: I had to make up time since my swim didn't go as well as I had planned. So I pushed harder on the bike knowing that it was maily flat. I can't tell if I went too hard or if it was that it was 20 miles instead of 13. What would you do differently?: I don't think I would do much more maybe instead of drinking the Powerbar Perform I would have just drank water. Transition 2
Comments: I thought I did well here. I was able to rack, get my helmet off and then put on my shoes with no problems What would you do differently?: Maybe run harder through transition Run
Comments: This was my second trail run I had to do out of my 3 Tris. I'm not sure if I went too hard on the bike or if it was the fact it was a 20 mile bike course instead of a 13 mile bike course. When I got to the run I really didn't have much in me. I had to stop and walk when I got to the water station, and I had to stop and walk another time for about 30 seconds because my hamstring was starting to tighten up. I wasn't able to use my Garmin to see my pace or distance so it seemed like the run was taking forever What would you do differently?: work on my endurance so I can do the entire race without stopping. Post race
Warm down: Poured some water over my head, as well as drank some. What limited your ability to perform faster: My overall endurance Event comments: Overall this was probably my best race so far. Since it was a 20 mile bike I was still pleased that I could still run afterwards. If I could just figure out my swimming it would have been a great race. Last updated: 2011-06-05 12:00 AM

Woke up at 5:30AM got a bagel and an OJ for breakfast. I also got a ganola bar from the Hotel that I ended up eating an hour before the event. Got to Transition as it opened and got a nice spot at the end of the rack towards the bike out. I set up my transition area and went to go get my chip and marked. I did a walkthrough of the transitions to make sure I can find my bike and that I had all my gear where I wanted it.
Got my wetsuit on about a half hour before the race start and went out to test the water. It was cold and the locals said the water turned over earlier in the week. Good thing I had the wetsuit.
