Event warmup:

Did some stretching and a practice swim.
Swim
  • 12m 85s
  • 440 yards
  • 03m 03s / 100 yards
Comments:

I became nauseas during the swimm, stroke didn't feel right. Doing backstroke helped some.
What would you do differently?:

May not wear wetsuit in next tri. I have had stomach issues every time I have worn it. Did an open water swim without the wetsiut and felt fine.
Transition 1
  • 05m 1s
Comments:

Legs felt heavy getting out of the water, was a bit wobbley at first. Was surprised how fast I got out of my wetsuit.
What would you do differently?:

Need to run faster to T1.
Bike
  • 1h 01m 13s
  • 15 miles
  • 14.70 mile/hr
Comments:

Stomach was still jittery first 4 - 5 miles of bike. Had a hard time pedaling even though it was a flat course. It felt like I was riding without enough air in my tires. The hills at mile 4 and 9 should have been far easier than they were.
What would you do differently?:

not sure.
Transition 2
  • 01m 46s
Comments:

Ran past rack. Shoes and socks were wet after biking, was glad to have dry ones to change into.
What would you do differently?:

Pay better attention to where my bike goes.
Run
  • 35m 39s
  • 3 miles
  • 11m 53s  min/mile
Comments:

Felt the best on the run. Could tell I wasn't at my regular pace. Picked it up for the last mile.
What would you do differently?:

Should have ran faster sooner. It's the last leg of the tri. I don't need to conserve energy.
Post race
Warm down:

Walked, drank water and chocolate milk.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Had a cold the week before. thought I was more recovered than I was.

Event comments:

The course should have been just right to a bit to easy for my ability but felt like it was to hard.

Was tired but not sore after the race. Eyes and nose felt a bit itchy and I had a cough. Was tired on Sunday and my throat was sore. Felt better this morning, Monday, but went to the doctor's any way. Doctor said I don't have anything, that I was feeling the effects of exerting myself to soon after being sick.
