Start is only 1.5 miles from my house, so rode my bike over to transition and got set up.

Good swim for me... kept breathing and sighting consistent and felt like I did not waste a bunch of effort getting off course (a usual issue for me). Did not draft at all but I like my space.

Good transition... long slow jog to bike but really liked my rack spot because running with bike was minimal.

Well... not a great bike but I was very pleased with the time. I had not been outside on my bike one time this year. Just stupid and lack of dedication. I was sick to my stomach worried about the bike. Had a tail wind on the way out and quickly gained condifence and felt great. Way back with headwind was tough and my hamstrings started hurting within 10 miles but stood up to stretch frequently. Overall could not have been more pleased given training effort.

Knew that as long as I didn't totally fall apart I could make 6 hours which was my stretch goal. Walked aid stations and big hills. Not a great run given past efforts but felt pretty consistent pacing. Volunteers were awesome.
