Swim
Comments: I am still slow as hell, but I was relaxed and the pace was steady. Had enough left to pick it up the last 200 yards. What would you do differently?: Just continue to get faster and maybe get better at bilateral breathing Transition 1
Comments: This transition sucked. I couldn't find the damn cord on my wetsuit and then got some weird cramp in one of my abs. Then my friggin watch got caught when pulling out of the sleeves and then I almost fell over pulling it off my feet. Even worse was the helmet. I need to practice with my race helmet because it has a chin pad that gets in the way and I couldn't feel my fingers so I had to stop with my bike to clip my chin strap. AWFUL What would you do differently?: Um, just about everything. Get a better feel for where the wetsuit strap it. Get a quick release for my garmin, and practice with my helmet. ALso still need to learn how to mount bike on the run with shoes clipped in Bike
Comments: I pushed pretty hard but still had some left for the run so I'm pretty happy with 20 mph with those hills What would you do differently?: Get better at climbing! This is the only area I get passed at this point Transition 2
Comments: I accidentally clipped out with one shoe so I had to hop off and grab it. I basically just picked up my bike at that point but it luckily didnt slow me down much. I just wasnt awareI was so close to the finish so I rushed What would you do differently?: Be more aware of where the end is so I can take my time getting out of my shoes Run
Comments: I felt pretty good on this run. I came out to fast like always, but i knew it and was able to slow myself enough so I didn't crap out. Kept a strong pace the last 2 miles What would you do differently?: Just go easy to start and get better at hills Post race
Warm down: Had to pee so bad! I actually felt totally fine so I just stretched a little then grabbed some food and waited for some friends What limited your ability to perform faster: Need to swim faster, and attack hills better-especialy on the bike Event comments: well organized and great people. Post race food wasn't all that impressive though. Not a lot of options aside from an average bbq Last updated: 2011-06-07 12:00 AM

DIdn't really get any sleep, but felt good waking up in a cabin right on the lake. Had a banana and gu with some iced tea and stretched in the cool air on the deck
Rode the 7 min to the race with my gear, set up and then went for a 10 min jog. Headed down to the water and got in 200 yards before lining up. Felt relaxed for a change.
