Total Time = 2h 13m 24s
Overall Rank = 306/430
Age Group = M35-39
Age Group Rank = 41/48
Pre-race routine:

Alarm at 5, cup of coffee, some chocolate croissant, headed out of the condo with all my stuff. Very convenient being in my own bed and 5 minute walk from race.
Event warmup:

Ran around for a while, did a couple of strides. Got lined up and ready to go. Day dreamed a bit, next think I knew I was 2 people away.
Swim
  • 08m 51s
  • 440 yards
  • 02m 01s / 100 yards
Comments:

Happy with swim. TT start was pretty good, got into a decent stroke and was right at the buoys. Felt like I got into a smooth rhythm, but was feeling a little tired 3/4 through. Finished strong.
What would you do differently?:

keep working on the swimming.
Transition 1
  • 02m 57s
Comments:

Much smoother than Nashua. Had some sock trouble. Had a couple drinks of HEED and water and got on the road. Mount was pretty smooth
What would you do differently?:

Try no socks.
Bike
  • 1h 12m 28s
  • 21 miles
  • 17.39 mile/hr
Comments:

Still working on getting comfortable on downhills in aero at higher speed.
Discovered next day I've had a slow leak in the rear tire for a while now.
Was disappointed in my speed in the flats, was feeling a little out of energy at the 2/3 point before the big uphill started. Spun up the hills.
Had some gel middway. Stayed hydrated throughout.
What would you do differently?:

Get tires pressure locked in. Maintain better pacing and speed. Challenge hills.
Transition 2
  • 02m 9s
Comments:

Clean dismount, grabbed another gel. Shoes on clean
What would you do differently?:

rack bike cleaner
Run
  • 47m 1s
  • 5 miles
  • 09m 24s  min/mile
Comments:

Didn't head out with water. Had a much more difficult time with this than I anticipated. Midpoint seemed to get further and further away. Stomach issues midway, I felt like I needed water half the time, and that I had too much water the other half, felt like hurling. Strong finish.
What would you do differently?:

Run with water
Post race
Warm down:

Kissed family. Waited in line for a massage for 45 minutes before bailing.

Event comments:

For my second tri ever, this was a win. Great having a "home course" race. International difference was a challenge, even with the short swim. Looking forward to bettering times significantly next year.
