Swim
Comments: I felt like I was swimming much more strongly, but ended up a bit off course on the back side and definitely burned time heading back towards buoy. Still, I kept a good, consistent pace. Lots more bumping today compared to yesterday. What would you do differently?: Sight better. Transition 1
Comments: Got a little hung up getting wetsuit off over watch. Drank some water and heed. Scrapped the socks, sprayed triglide on feet and threw on the bike shoes. What would you do differently?: take the watch off, or tuck it under the suit as i head to strippers. Bike
Comments: So my watch has a whole extra mile here. I like the time on my watch better than the chip time, so I'll go with that. I had a strong start down the hill and was able to keep it going. Felt really good, and ended up keeping company with two other folks most of the race as we kept passing each other and talking smack. Mostly me telling them to not get passed by a fat newbie. Made it really fun. It did challenge me to make moves and keep my pace. Hearing footsteps will keep you going. I challenged the hills well and kept it going. Cadence wasn't being tracked for some reason. What would you do differently?: Not much. I really liked this ride according to my abilities. Confirm read of Heart monitor and cadence before race starts. Transition 2
Comments: Went with the NB Minimus instead of the Kinvaras to try and avoid blisters. I took water with me after yesterday's wishing that I did. Still feel like I was forgetting something. What would you do differently?: Probably could have shaved another 10-15 seconds or so racking bike cleaner, dropping, changing shoes and throwing the helmet off, but I'll take t. Run
Comments: NEGATIVE SPLITS! So the chip time has me doing an 8:07 which seems pretty fast. I've done that before, but still. Watch time has me at 8:39 and 3.2M. 9:00, 8:36, 8:22, and 7:41 for split times. Hydration was great with my new binkie water bottle (panacea?). Once I got to the turn around, I let it go and just ran and pushed it. Mentally psyching myself up with "there's no race tomorrow". Was punch drunk and chatting with all of the volunteers as I went by. Hammed it up at the finish (as the RD told us too, not all my fault!!) and Deion High stepped it. Bad move, strained calf during celebration. I feel like a Gramtica brother blowing out a knee after a big kick. What would you do differently?: Well, the obvious is don't high step the finish after b2b days of endurance racing. The Minimus was a bad shoe choice on pavement. Heel feels a little bruised (second time this has happened, as much as I like to think my gait is mid foot, it's not.) I can def go without socks, much faster in T. Post race
Warm down: Felt much less blasted after than yesterday. Went right to massage line and found the fam Event comments: Absolutely loved today. Was dreading it going in, but I'm really stoked by my results. Not sure where the energy came from, but in all three legs I felt like I had more speed, endurance, and FUN. Loved it, and am stoked. Also I got the DAMN HAT as a Lord of the Fly. Pat myself on the back and get in line. Last updated: 2011-06-11 12:00 AM

Coffee and chocolate croissant. Didn't want to get out of bed AT ALL.
Got tire fixed at on site bike shop.
Somehow ended up late at a race 5 minutes from my house, wasn't able to really get warmed up.
