![]() Swim
Comments: Wow; was really gased by 250m into the swim, swam through some of the pain and disorientation, but it caught up to me by 500m and I had to roll over and kick to catch my breath What would you do differently?: MORE TRAINING, need to address endurance portion and navigation ![]() Transition 1
Comments: Drastically improved from previous events. a long run from the swim fin to the T area added to time, but seamless once I got into the area and out to the road What would you do differently?: not much, work on gettign shoes on faster after up to speed ![]() Bike
Comments: Beautiful ride. pushed my self hard enough to remain competitive, but did not run out of water or really feel gased at any point. 2 cervelos and i female passed me (remained on her wheel for the rest of the ride), i passed about 6-8 riders. getting much more competent and comfortable riding distance at pace. What would you do differently?: not much....more training to get cadence up to 20 mph ![]() Transition 2
Comments: great transition; even had time to grab a little hydration from the bike bottle before leaving the T area. What would you do differently?: hydrate prior to arriving and have shoes in better position in my area (had to reach and laces were really loose) ![]() Run
Comments: typical pain in the my calves at the beginning, but after mile 1, I was good to go and my speed increased dramatically. finish was almost all downhill which really boosted ego and made it easy What would you do differently?: not much ![]() Post race
Warm down: stretching, hydration, cool-down walk What limited your ability to perform faster: swim conditioning! the rest of the race felt awesome and I really feel like sprint distances are getting easier now. Event comments: Can be difficult logistically; you may not drive away from the park until every rider has come back and is in the Transition area. There is only one road in and out of the park and you will have to sit and wait after you finish, if you are toward the front of the pack. So, relax after your race, hang out with friends (or make some new ones), go visit the sponsor tents, and cheer on your fellow competitors! Last updated: 2011-06-12 12:00 AM
