Swim
Comments: I started in the water, most everyone else did a dive start from the dock, Everyone went flying/diving over me when we started and so I was immediately BOP. I passed a couple of people but overall, the swim was...eh. I didnt train a lot for the swim so its no big surprise I didn't feel stronger in the water. Still, when I got out there was a good number of people behind me.Mind you, I told myself going into this race it was going to be a workout, not a "race", I was going to try and not be competitive but when I saw I was doing better then I thought, I got a good boost. What would you do differently?: Dive start with everyone else. Obviously train more. Transition 1
Comments: it felt pretty quick... Bike
Transition 2
Comments: Again, I hustled, it felt fast... I'll see when the times are posted if I was as fast as I felt like I was being. Run
What would you do differently?: train on hills. Post race
Warm down: My family came to see me finish, this is the first race of mine in the past 3 years since I started racing that they've come to so it was a huge fun thing to see my 4year old at the finish line cheering me on. Amazing feeling. We ate some fig newtons and walked around and talked to some other racers I saw on the course, it was a really nice event. What limited your ability to perform faster: lack of hill training on the run. Bike chain is loose, must fix asap Event comments: the course wasnt exactly too hard for my ability but it was definitely harder then other sprint Tris or runs I've done. Set up transition, nothing special.
Light stretching/rolling out (there was a bunch of yoga mats and foam rollers for general use at the transition area -nice touch.
