Swim
Comments: Oh how the best laid plans fall apart! All the swim training made me comfortable enough to start with the main group - that was a mistake. I got kicked and squeezed in the first 50m and it caused me to irrationally pamic. I never reviovered my stroke and kept inhaling water. The swim turned into an ungraceful mess. I finished 1.5 minutes slower than planned. What would you do differently?: Start at the side. Relax. Focus on my improved technique. Transition 1
Bike
Comments: With my crappy swim, I had to make time up on the bike. This did not quite happen as I planned either. The wind was really blowing my disk around and my new shorts (never tried them on before) were too tight in the groin. My feet went numb. What would you do differently?: Put on looser shorts. Transition 2
Run
Comments: I was surprisingly happy with my run. I felt pain in the shins and calves but worked my way through it. The only negative was that I picked up a sharp rock in my shoe. On top of the dam, I stopped to shake it out and someone passed me (a lady) so I took after her and immideatly tripped. I scraped my hand up a bit and my ego a lot. What would you do differently?: not trip. Post race
Warm down: The cold weather ment I was cooled down quickly. I played with kids at playground. Milk and burger were good. Event comments: This is the second year in a row that I screwed up this race. Next year I'll get it right. Last updated: 2011-06-12 12:00 AM

Woke up at the crack of "O'my God its Early"
Loaded the still-sleeping kids into the van. Loader the sleepy wife into the van. Loaded the gear and drove.
Small swim (100m) in lake - felt great
