Swim
Comments: Absolutely THRILLED with my swim time. The temp was not an issue for me at all. It really paid to have a coach break down my swim in the offseason. I had no idea how my pool times would transition into open water, but I had been swimming the 1.2 miles at approx 38-39 mins in a pool. This would have taken me over an hour last year. So excited. What would you do differently?: Started at the front of my wave. I started at the back because historically I'm a weak swimmer. Transition 1
Comments: Not a great transition :/. Had some problems getting my top on and my bike out of the rack. What would you do differently?: Swim with my tri top on instead of putting it on in T1. Bike
Comments: Weird bike for me. I was happy with the time, but I had to WORK for that time. We all know that if you put too much in on the bike your run will suffer. I only had 2 bottles on the bike, should of had a third for just plain water. What would you do differently?: The oddest thing happened. I'd been fueling my long runs with Perpetuem and sports drink/water. No problems. On this bike had some GI problems with the Perpetuem and only drank 1/4 of my multihour bottle. This left me with only ONE rack for sports drink/h20 and I paid a price by not fueling as well as I had hoped. Transition 2
Comments: Great transition What would you do differently?: Dunno...i really wanted to wear compression socks so it took me some time to change into those. Maybe wear those on the bike next time? Run
Comments: Paid a price for exerting myself on the bike :(. I was hoping to keep a pace around 9 min/miles or better and at about mile 5 I realized I probably wasn't going to be able to do it. I walked through the aid stations, which was a big help. What would you do differently?: Fuel better on the bike. Post race
Warm down: Massage, food, photos, hugs, kisses, great finish to a great day! What limited your ability to perform faster: Should have started at the front of my swim wave, should of not stopped twice on the bike to mix fuel, had to pee 3 times on the course!!! Event comments: Best race I've ever done in terms of organization and my own fitness. I know now why the WTC races charge a premium. They're very well run and make you feel like a champ. My only beef: My wave was supposed to start 13 mins after the pros. When i crossed the finish the clock said 6:11. Therefore doing the math, I was convinced I did 5:58 and broke 6 hours. Official time says otherwise. A bit confused by that one, but beat my stated goal of 6:15, WIN for me! Last updated: 2011-06-12 12:00 AM

Woke up and had breakfast at hotel at 730. Brought my own oatmeal, PB, and raisins (know what works for me!!), and had a small cup of coffee. Stretched a bit. Relaxed and read my Bible. Hung out on my twitter feed to take my mind off the race. Took the shuttle up to Lucky Peak and put my bike through the typical checklist
Did some simple stretching up at Lucky Peak. Downed a bottle of HEED.
