Swim
Comments: Not happy with my swim. I haven't been as consistent with my training because of travel and only had two OWS under my belt. Went out reasonably, but with lots of bumping. Rounded the bouys reasonably, but never really got into a rhythm. What would you do differently?: Swim more. Get used to OWS race environments. Transition 1
Comments: T1 was ok. Had some trouble getting off suit because of cold, but otherwise, it went well. Feet were FREEZING! What would you do differently?: N/A Bike
Comments: Got out on the course rather well. Tried to warm up my feet, but they were totally frozen from standing around before the swim. Cadence was good and I wasn't passed by everyone. I actually passed a number of people which was great! Wanted to push harder on the hills but was concerned about the run. What would you do differently?: Push harder. I think I need to tackle the hills more. Transition 2
Comments: Gah! This was awful. When I came in to rack my bike, some girl was lost and I almost ran into her because she cut me off going to my rack. I couldn't feel my feet so I put on my shoes twice because I bent back a toe and didn't want to injure myself while running. What would you do differently?: Not have frozen feet. Also, should have opened up my shoes more to make putting on easier. Was concerned about them being too tight with tendonitis in right foot. Run
Comments: Run felt ok. My asthma got in the way on my way out up the hill. Backed off and felt better. Thought I was holding a faster pace, but alas, I was not. It felt good overall and I did pass a few folks, but fewer than usual as I was dead MOP. What would you do differently?: Run faster. I think I am capable of pushing it harder. Post race
Warm down: Water, gummy bears and a subway sandwich. I stretched a lot and walked around as well. Lots of stretching when I got home. What limited your ability to perform faster: Asthma, timidity. Need to get some balls on the bike. Event comments: I really enjoyed this race despite the drizzly conditions. I was happy to take 4 minutes off my best sprint time ever! Would do it again next year if it fits into the schedule. Last updated: 2011-06-13 12:00 AM

Set up transition area and talked with friend Kate to help her get set up for her first tri. Ran into a colleague which was neat! Had usual bfast of oatmeal, apple and banana with pb. Also a cup of tea and some water.
Put my wetsuit on at the club tent and swam for 7-8 min. It was cold and wet out. Not ideal conditions. Ran into the parents of a hs friend- weird, but helped me to take the focus off being nervous for my first race of the season.
