Swim
Comments: I have one speed...and it's EFFING SLOW!!! The first 1/4 mile down, my nerves are just in high gear and I am insane. I also tend to get "stuck" behind people all the time...and today was no different. Then as soon as I round the buoy, I am fine. I get myself into a rhythm and I swam the entire time, and sighted really well. What would you do differently?: Keep practicing. Maybe I should take coach's advice and have a couple people swim right by me for practice so it relieves my nerves and see if that helps? Or I could just suck it up and SWIM!! :) Transition 1
Comments: Got suit stuck on right heel, on the timing chip. Oh well. What would you do differently?: Rip that sucker right off!! Bike
Comments: 2nd fastest bike split in AG...wahooo! Guess all that biking at Well Fit is paying off...good to know my money isn't going to waste! I slow down waaaaaaay too much on some of those turns. Having wiped pretty badly on a couple is totally in my head. I think maybe one day I should just go somewhere and practice turns over and over and over... At the last turn, Crowny came up behind me and told me to haul it in (or something to that effect) so I caught up to him and said, "You mean like this?" Really nice to have peeps you know out there encouraging you! What would you do differently?: Turns Otherwise, I think I am VERY happy with this bike! :) Transition 2
Comments: Nada... Run
Comments: Guess what reared its ugly head on my run....yup...psoas pain. Not even going to waste my time typing anything else. It cramped after I passed mile 2 sign. Mile 1: 8:35 Mile 2: 8:22 Mile 3: 8:39 (These are approximate...splits at home on my watch) What would you do differently?: Duh... Post race
Warm down: Went right to the medical tent for ice since my psoas was on panic mode and I could barely even catch a breath. I grabbed the ice, laid in grass and the paramedic told me I should be on the cot, so as soon as I stood up, the pain went away. I said, "It's gone, I'm good." and the look from the paramedic was priceless. I said to her, "I don't know, this stupid thing has a mind of it's own." What limited your ability to perform faster: Duh... Event comments: I heart this race. The great thing is seeing all your BT peeps who you don't get to see a lot. Considering the lack of training, the partially collapsed lung, Lindsey passing away...I'll take a 4th place finish in my age group. I think LD and Mom were really looking out for me today and pushed me to that 4th place finish...I hope I made them proud! :) Last updated: 2011-06-13 12:00 AM

Got to transition around 5:15, just like last year, and parked in the parking lot. I can't tell you how much nicer it is being able to park at the rec plex...LOVE it!
Got to transition, and unwrapped bike...turns out it didn't even rain so I didn't even need bags on the bike so that was nice.
Pumped up tired...brought pump back to car (don't need someone lifting my Joe Blow like at Racine) and set up towel...was done in all of 5 minutes.
Got the wetsuit on and headed into the water for a little schwimmy.
Was in the water yesterday so I knew it felt nice!
Also did some of my PT stretches for my psoas.
