Run
Comments: I wrote a detailed description then it was lost, so too bad. Basically the obstacles weren't all that hard, just scraped my knees up a bit. The hard part about this race was the hills! Up was no fun and down was scary. We couldn't do two obstacles due to lighting, so I also skipped the slippery balance been since it was incomplete anyway. I liked the slip n slide. What would you do differently?: Not sign up again for a race at Afton unless it involves using the ski lifts to go up the hills. Post race
Warm down: We tried to use the sprayers to get cleaned, but I think I ended up dirtier than when I started. I ended up not able to remove the mud from my knees down and just let it dry. I felt like a vagrant when I went for packet pickup for Sunday's race. Then we did the whole transportation thing in reverse and were on the road at 11:30. Very glad we stared early. Event comments: Again, I am tired of Afton. It was basically the same deal at Muddy Buddy, so I don't need to do that again for a long while. It was pretty organized for so many people, although the crowding is not my cup of tea. I enjoyed my free beer and the brat I paid for was ok - necessary. I know lots of people enjoyed the race. Parked at some guys huge farm and took a ride on some hay bails and then a bus to Afton Alps. I am SO glad we were starting early in the day. Packets, bag check, etc. Our start time was 10:00 but we got ready pretty quickly and jumped into the 9:30 wave.
