Swim
  • 10m 15s
  • 500 yards
  • 02m 03s / 100 yards
Comments:

swam hard from the start never really encountered any trouble, once I made the turn buoy I keep drifting inside to the right loss about 25 yards from poor navigation. made the turn and stayed strong. Time was a little slow I had 8:47 at the beach, in the pool I warm up at 8:00, I need to get my OWS time down.
What would you do differently?:

nothing swam the best I could
Transition 1
  • 01m 24s
Comments:

got to T1 and I was a little wobbly, it took a few seconds to get my bearings, not sure what that was from. Need to move quicker in T1 I seem to fumble around to much was 46 overall split
What would you do differently?:

practice getting shoes on, glasses, helment and get out of there
Bike
  • 44m 24s
  • 16.6 miles
  • 22.43 mile/hr
Comments:

went out hard and stayed on pace about the whole way, just stayed in the 22.5 mph range, only one person passed me, it was a good ride. I was 1 minute slower than 2009.
What would you do differently?:

I haven't done any speed work this year, I kind of suprised that my speed is still pretty good. I'm going to work on speed big time during the winter
Transition 2
  • 00m 42s
Comments:

One of my best T2 every, came in about 15 mph flying dismount right to the rack changed shoes and was out of there. 25th overall split
What would you do differently?:

nothing
Run
  • 27m
  • 3.75 miles
  • 07m 12s  min/mile
Comments:

ran best I could, I wanted to come off the bike and run hard, but just did not have it, I was shooting for a 6:40 opening mile missed by 40 seconds. I was pleased with the 6:52 which included a hill and trails. finished strong over the last 1/2 mile. Once again I need more speed work.
What would you do differently?:

speed work and more bricks so I can come off and get motoring
Post race
Warm down:

walk and talked

What limited your ability to perform faster:

not much lack of speed work for sprints

Event comments:

really like this race it is one of my favorites. Just like the course and distance. I will always try to make this race.
