Swim
Comments: Had too much fun dodging JELLYFISH What would you do differently?: Swim through so of the jerks in the water. Transition 1
Comments: Good transition, liked having the tent with chairs to change and grab a bite to eat. What would you do differently?: Not much Bike
Comments: 2 miles of the bike course was under a foot of water What would you do differently?: Be a little quicker on my special needs and bathroom break Transition 2
Comments: After over 5 hours on the bike it was difficult to get running again What would you do differently?: spend less time getting ready for the run and put tape on my ankles, got somw NICE blisters Run
Comments: For my first marathon after swiming and biking over 7 hours of work I felt good. What would you do differently?: Walk a little less but the run walk strategy worked out well for my first marathon. Post race
Warm down: walked around for about five minutes What limited your ability to perform faster: Since this was my first ULTRA the unknown of how my body would react was the biggest factor. Now that I have done one I know I can go a little faster in all three events and still have energy to complete it. Event comments: I could have used some more drink stations and porta johns on the bike course. The run course had three aid stations the first two were each mile while the third was a mile and a half out which made it mentally difficult. Very pleased with my time I wanted to break 12 hours and I did. Also I was not sure I would be able to finish this race so when I did I was a little emotional. Last updated: 2011-06-15 12:00 AM
